How do you watch your movies? Blu-ray? DVD? Digital versions? I prefer digital movies now. Here are a few reasons why.
1. You don’t have to get up and put in a Blu-ray or DVD.
Yep, you guessed it. I’m too lazy to walk the 8 feet to the TV and put in a movie. You don’t have to do that with digital movies. All you need is a set top player, such as a Roku 3 or Amazon Fire TV Stick, a Blu-ray player, or a smart TV.
2. You can watch movies anywhere, on any device.
Have an smartphone? Tablet? Android or iOS, it can play movies anywhere there is an internet connection. Some apps will also let you download movies so you can watch them later when you don’t have internet. (Not all apps will work on all devices.)
3. They don’t take up space!
Do you have a huge movie collection like we do? I hate having to pack it up each time we move and the wall space that our shelf takes up. Digital movies are stored online and don’t take up any physical space.
4. You can rent, too
Amazon, Vudu, and others will let you rent digital movies right from your living room (or wherever you are). Don’t rule out subscriptions like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, either.
5. Can’t make up your mind? Get both!
Blu-ray combo packs and many DVDs come with a digital version, too! Sometimes the Blu-rays or DVDs go on sale for cheaper than the digital versions.
